Description
The northwesterly winds that trailed the cold front were starting to diminish. A few streets of turbulent stratocumulus still lingered to the west. Meanwhile overhead the stratocumulus were fizzling into cumulus fractus with the setting sun. Only the very tops of these last buoyant pieces of cumulus were still illuminated by the sun. The Singleton shores and backlit stratocumulus were already in twilight. Meanwhile the higher and more distant bands of deformation zone cirrus were signalling the approach of the next warm conveyor belt and autumn storm.
The clouds have a detailed story to tell if we just take the time to slow down, watch and listen. Weather prediction has certainly advanced to become an APP on your phone but one can still relax to enjoy the show. By the way, I my phone is still pretty dumb and attached to a wall. Maybe that is why I have time to enjoy the weather?
