"Last Sail Of The Season" tied for first place in the Fine Art America contest, "Imagination-artistry-creativity GROUP MEMBERS ONLY Digital Art" August 28th! Congratulations to my co-winner, David Griffith! Many thanks to the group and contest's administrator, Johanna Hurmerinta, and huge thanks to everyone who voted for my image.
Under a brisk wind that teases the trees, two cheerful sailboats skim across the waters of a clear blue lake in the distance. The little skiffs are rushing back to dock. The weather is beginning to turn, it turns quickly this time of year. The russet leaves of the tree we stand beneath tumble to earth on this perfect Indian-Summer day as, with a twinge of sadness, we watch the racing red sails disappear from sight.
We wrap our sweaters around us more closely against the sudden chill.
Summer is ending .....
