Description
Larrea tridentata, called creosote bush for the scent of its tiny resinous evergreen leaves, is an extremely xeric native shrub widespread in the Sonoran desert and other desert areas of the Southwest. The pungent scent of the leaves is the distinguishing perfume of the air after a rainstorm. I photographed the picturesque branches of this one in the foothills of Tucson, Arizona.
