Gulf of Mexico oil spill clean-up. Worker cleaning up oily waste on Elmer's Island, Grand Isle, Louisiana. Hundreds of workers are cleaning up oil that has reached the shore a month after the explosion of the offshore drilling unit, Deepwater Horizon. Over five thousand barrels of oil a day leaked into the Gulf of Mexico, 80 kilometres from the coast of Louisiana, USA, harming local wildlife and fishing industries. Photographed on 21st May 2010.
