Description
The crested saguaro is both a beautiful and rare marvel of nature. Instead of growing the typical arms that curve upward, a crested saguaro exhibits a fan-like or crested growth pattern at the top of its main trunk. These special cacti (only approximately 2200 crested saguaros have been documented) serve as a reminder of the diversity and wonder found in the natural world. As I drew and painted this particular crested saguaro, it seemed to be looking back at me. Hence the inspiration for the title “Here’s Looking at You, Kid”; a classic line from one of my favorite movies "Casablanca."
Part of my Philanthropy Collection. Proceeds from sales on FAA/Pixels are donated in full to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where they provide medical care to children with cancer and other life threatening conditions at no cost to families in need.
