Description
Spring is in the air with Shimmer Evening Primrose (Oenothera fremontii Shimmer). Shimmer' is all about foliage, flowers, and texture. It has lemon yellow, crepe paper blossoms that shimmer cheerfully in the sun. The foliage is lacy, with very narrow, silvery green leaves.
I love how it glows with light and warmth, is surprisingly tough and drought tolerant. Which is a good thing in our Arizona Sonoran Desert.

So cheerful and bright! Your title is spot on! I can't wait to see color here again! As early as Feb we could see the Crocus popping up through the winter soil. I love that you always tell us what the flower or bird is in your description. L/F

Thank you dear Deborah. Always a pleasure to have you grace my gallery of artwork, and leave such an inspiring comment. Evoking just the feelings I was hoping to. Sometimes I stress about that right title coming to me. I like to give (when I can), a title that expresses my subject and how it makes me feel at the same time. Here and there this winter, I have come across some color and have shared those surprises I have come across. When it comes to naming the flower and bird, I certainly try. I am sure it helps when buyers are looking for them specifically. With 15,000 species of wildflowers in the U.S. it can be difficult sometimes.
