Description
"No Cake for You"
I don't know why, but I find myself thinking about the French Revolution an awful lot these days. I get this uncanny feeling I can't describe, almost as if history were repeating itself. Go figure. Anyway, hence my digital pop art painting created from a simple 19th century line drawing of Marie Antoinnette, the last queen of France before losing her head to the French revolutionaries (and who never said "Let them eat cake," somebody actually mentioned "brioche" and it may not have even been the queen... I like brioche). I used vivid hues of cobalt, indigo blue, plum purple, fuchsia pink, orange, tan and yellow for my portrait of the infamous historical figure. Now if I could just get over this unbearable desire I'm finding hard to *resist* to change my name to Dafarge and pick up some knitting. How do you spell "guillotine" again?

Congratulations you are featured in https://fineartamerica.com/groups/trendy-los-angeles-gallery-style-art.html BTW, I often think about the French Revolution too and Trump, in an interview, went on an on about a "beautiful" chocolate cake he was eating when bombs were deployed and then was confused about what country the bombs actually went to... Feel free to submit more Resistance art, love your work! 😊
Susan Maxwell Schmidt replied:
Ah yes, Trump is certainly a piece of, umm... cake. Thank you Alicia ;)
