Description
A close-up of a small cave with vegetation growing at the entrance in the red rock of Mouse’s Tank in Valley of Fire State Park. It is a natural basin in the rock where water collects after each rainfall. A half-mile round trip trail leads to Mouse’s Tank from the trailhead parking area. There are excellent examples of prehistoric petroglyphs on the trail. Mouse’s Tank is named for a Southern Paiute Indian renegade (“Little Mouse”) who used Valley of Fire as a hideout in the 1890’s after he was accused of killing two prospectors and other crimes in the area.

Jurgen, in addition to your gorgeous rock photograph from the Valley of Fire State Park being a featured image, it has been pinned to the Orange Euphoria Pinterest board, which is the crème de la crème of our magnificent group! Congratulations!

Fantastic! I guess it's that Valentine's Day is next week, but the opening has a bit of a heart-shape which to me makes it look welcoming. My interpretation, however, clashes with your interesting hideout story! Great shot as always, and thank your or doing the legwork to bring this to us.

it's great, Jurgen, showing the weeds growing out of the crevice. That's what makes it art. Seeing beyond. Love your work.
