Pairs of these little skippers (Lon taxiles, family Hesperiidae) are showing up in a few different places in Flagstaff Arizona, chasing each other in what might be a mating ritual. And the flower, the native thistle (a bit less mean than the invasive variety) hosts the skipper and the two of them benefit. So does the photographer, with 300mm prime lens on an OM-1 camera. I took the photo on July 15, 2023, in our front yard.
