Among the very thorny Prickly Pear Cactus is this yellow bloom. Mellow is what the color yellow evokes. Relaxed, calm, happy and content. So amidst the thorns in life, we can mellow out. Seeing all the beautiful blooms of our early Spring, in my desert paradise, does that for me. Hence the TITLE "They Call Me Mellow Yellow."
So glad we still had some of these cacti blooms when our special guest arrived, so she too could capture some mellow yellow blooms.

My title has nothing to do with the song by Donovan called Mellow Yellow. I give the explanation in my description. Mellow is to be calm, relaxed, happy and content. The color yellow evokes that. So amidst the thorns we can mellow out. Just take a walk through our desert garden in spring with all the yellow you can but be mellow.
